Continuing its Christmas tradition every year, Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre is pulling out all the stops for its festive decorations. The centerpiece is a life-size Gingerbread Hobbit House at the hotel lobby. Yes, you can actually enter the house and check out the Christmas pastries inside! And yes, the "bricks" are made of actual gingerbread!
Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre will be serving Christmas Eve Dinner Buffet at Sedap Restaurant. Today's preview event serves to showcase the lavish delicacies that one can expect to savor on the actual evening.
Traditional Roasted Whole Turkey is a must-have during Christmas. Cooked to perfection, the bird is best enjoyed with giblet gravy or cranberry sauce. This poultry dish is paired with apple chestnut and sage stuffing.
As for beef, the Slow Roasted Prime Ribs goes well with Yorkshire pudding. Condiments include rosemary jus, Dijon mustard and horseradish cream.
Moving on to hot dishes, Roasted Sherry Duck Breast is cooked with lovely orange sauce. Other noteworthy Western cooking include Herb Marinated Lamb Chops, Chicken Blanquette and Baked Minced Seafood Lasagna.
Taken from French cookbooks is Tomato & Comté Cheese Quiche. The pastry crust is filled with a savory custard made of eggs, milk, tomatoes and French cheese.
At the salad section, cleanse your palate with Marinated Feta Salad, Waldorf Salad or Bohemian Potato Salad. I am also fascinated to see assorted cold cuts and cheeses.
Another section of the buffet spread serves seafood on ice. The live oysters here are a delicacy indeed. Also prepared are snow crabs, slipper lobsters, tiger prawns, black mussels, razor clams and white clams. There are several condiments to go with chilled seafood.
The Japanese section features an enticing array of sushi and sashimi to delight your palate. In addition, there is a tempura section where prawns and soft-shell crabs are served directly from the fryer!
The bread station at the corner has a wide selection of focaccia, baguette, country bread, French rolls, brioche rolls, grissini and more. The breads can be enjoyed with soup. In fact, the Prawn Bisque and Creamy Butternut Pumpkin Velouté are gratifying indeed!
There is no lack of creativity when it comes to Christmas confections. For instance, the Bûche de Noël is decorated like an enchanted tree! Next to it are Raspberry Tarts that look like toadstools. I am also pleased to see Madeleine & Croquembouche Towers. There is even a Lemon Cake in the shape of a sleigh!
Chocolate Yule Log Cake is also frequently encountered during Christmas. The chocolate Swiss roll is expertly crafted to resemble an actual Yule log.
Stollen is yet another popular dessert around this time of the year. This German cake-like bread contains candied fruit and nuts. Meanwhile, Panettone is a dome-shaped sweet bread from Italy.
Panettone Bread & Butter Pudding is a yuletide twist to the classic British recipe. The bread is to be enjoyed with creamy sauce made of vanilla, nutmeg and other spices.
The majestic Chocolate Fountain should not be missed either. In the spirit of Christmas, the melted chocolate takes on a vibrant pink hue that is simply irresistible!
As if the aforementioned treats aren't mesmerizing enough, check out the large platter of Christmas treats like gingerbread men, mini pretzels, Kit Kat, Dulcey, Oreo and M&M's. For fans of Lord of the Rings, edible Hobbit Playcards are available too.
The Christmas Eve Dinner Buffet is priced at RM208.00 for adults (add RM50.00 to include free-flow of beer and wine). The festive atmosphere throughout the evening is complemented by carolers and the appearance of Santa Claus. Terazza Brasserie

Terazza Brasserie is the all-day dining eatery in Dorsett Grand Subang. This evening, the Mediterranean-themed restaurant is offering a sneak peek into its upcoming Christmas festive buffet.
I recommend that you begin the feast at the carving station. The signature dish here is the Roasted Tom Turkey. Served with Yorkshire pudding, the poultry dish goes well with giblet gravy or cranberry sauce.
As for red meat, help yourself to juicy slices of Australian Ribeye. The beef is flavored with lovely thyme sauce. Roasted potatoes and bell peppers are provided too.
Terazza Brasserie also offers over a dozen chafing dishes from various cuisines. Among my favorites are Seafood Jambalaya, Stuffed Squid With Spicy Percik Sauce, Teriyaki Fish With Green Soba, and Stuffed Chicken Roulade With Pesto Aioli.
The restaurant prepared two types of pizza this evening. The classic Seafood Pizza is topped with prawns, squid and cheese. But should you prefer something exotic, be sure to check out the Sambal Petai Pizza too!
If you crave for sushi, you will be delighted to find several types of maki and nigiri sushi on the wooden boat. Also provided are wasabi, pickled ginger, soy sauce and edamame.
Ulam-Ulaman are raw vegetables that are typically eaten with condiments like sambal belacan and cincalok. Meanwhile, Gado-Gado is a local salad made of tempeh, tofu, vegetables and sweet peanut sauce.
The confectionery counter offers a variety of breads from baguettes to grissini. Two types of soup are provided to go with bread: Cream Of Mushroom Soup and Cordyceps Chicken Soup.
Originating in France, Yule Log Cake is a popular dessert during Christmas. The cake is decorated with chocolate icing and powdered sugar to resemble the bark and snow respectively.
Stollen is a traditional German bread that is prepared during Christmas. Also present are Fruit Cake, Christmas Pudding and Minced Pie.
Other mouthwatering desserts include Chocolate Cake, Christmas Cookies, Crème Brûlée Tartlet, Green Tea Panna Cotta, Crispy Sesame Ball and Chinese Pan Cake.
If you have a sweet tooth for cocoa, you should certainly visit the Chocolate Fountain! Skewered apricots, prunes, marshmallows and grapes are provided for your enjoyment.
This festive buffet dinner is served on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. In addition, Terazza Brasserie also serves buffet high tea on Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Furthermore, there are more Christmas offerings at The Emperor and Piano Lounge. Finally, guests can also purchase yuletide pastries from the gift shop.

With Christmas just around the corner, Dorsett Kuala Lumpur is hosting a preview event to showcase its festive offerings later this month. The yuletide-themed dinner is served at Checkers Café, the hotel's all-day dining restaurant at Level 1.
In celebration of the fact that international travel is now possible, the buffet theme this year is "Round-The-World in 80 Minutes". In this spirit, the menu consists of dishes from many countries around the world.
The main attraction this evening is obviously the Roasted Tom Turkey. This poultry dish is served with stuffings, sausages and roasted vegetables. Diners can choose from a variety of condiments such as giblet gravy, cranberry sauce and black pepper sauce.
After a wholesome serving at the carving station, whet your appetite with a variety of cuisines on chafing dishes. Popular ones include Nasi Briyani (Malaysian), Ayam Masak Kuzi (Malaysian), Green Prawn Curry (Thai), Thurkar Dhall (Indian) and Mutton Stew (Pakistani).
Also served this evening are Lemon Butter Grilled Fish (British), Cauliflower Gratin (French), Eggplant Moussaka (Greek), Mussel Butter Paprika (Hungarian), Buffalo Chicken Wings (American) and Salt-Crusted Baked Salmon (Australian).
Between mouthful of flavorful food, cleanse your palate with Penne Pasta Salad, Apple Salad and Garden Salad at the salad bar.
As for cold cuts, there are sliced chicken, meat rolls, smoked salmon and offal just to name a few.
Be sure not to pass over the enticing cheese platter. Dried raisins and apricots are meant to go with the assorted cheeses.
The selection of pastries is another attractive aspect of the yuletide-theme menu. Delight your sweet tooth with bite-sized Lemon Meringue Pie and Christmas Cookies!
As per Christmas tradition, there are also Cinnamon Apple Pie, Christmas Fruit Cake and Cream Cheese Carrot Cake.
Walnut Fudge Cake and Chocolate Yule Log are popular during Christmas too. The latter is actually a sponge cake that is decorated to resemble an actual Yule log.
Last but not least, help yourself to a slice of Chocolate Cake. Should you prefer something creamy, the Crème Brûlée is an excellent choice too!
The actual dinners will be served on Christmas Eve (24 December 2022) and New Year's Eve (31 December 2022). Children and senior citizens enjoy 30% discount. On both evenings, the hotel has arranged a series of activities to keep diners entertained.

Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre has a Chinese restaurant called Red Chinese Cuisine. Located right above Sedap Restaurant, the award-winning eatery features a stylish decor with a touch of modernity.
The culinary team here is led by Chinese Head Chef David. Chef David is well-versed in traditional Chinese recipes as well as contemporary fusion dishes.
Chef David's expertise in fusion cuisine is reflected in the Oven-Baked Five Spice Chicken Roulade (四川五香麻辣鸡卷). The dish is topped with Chef David's signature Szechuan-style crumble. Served on the side are sautéed sweet peas, capsicum and shimeji mushrooms.
In the festive spirit of Chinese New Year, Red Chinese Cuisine is offering special course meals for 5 or 10 persons. For today's media preview, a selection of dishes from several menus are presented.
Yee sang is an integral element of reunion dinners. Red Chinese Cuisine offers several versions of yee sang. The main highlight is the South African Abalone Yee Sang (五星拱照齐捞生), which also includes soft-shell crabs and passion fruit.
Infused with baby abalones, the Braised Winter Melon Soup (鲍鱼海味冬瓜羹) is good to the last drop. A dash of vinegar makes the broth even more appealing.
To ensure maximum freshness. Red Chinese Cuisine maintains a supply of live fish in the kitchen. This evening, the restaurant serves Hong Kong-Style Steamed Dragon Grouper (港式清蒸醉酒龙虎斑) with superior soy sauce.
Slow-Steamed Prawns (松露蛋白蒸鲜虾) are served with steamed egg and Bentong ginger. The presence of truffle butter adds a layer of earthy aroma to this exquisite dish.
The next dish, Jade Abalone & Vegetables (荷叶响螺烩蟹粉酱), derives its savoriness from golden crab sauce and dried scallops. The dish is wrapped in lotus leaf for the added aroma.
Moving on, Shanghainese-Style Fried Rice (腊味炒饭) is served with waxed duck meat, pickled vegetables and chicken floss.
Recommended desserts are Almond Pudding With Peach Gum, Glutinous Rice Balls & Osmanthus Brown Sugar (杏仁豆腐桃胶汤圆) as well as Steamed Nian Gao With White Sesame & Peanut Crumble (麻花年糕).
As for customers who prefer to enjoy their meals at home, Red Chinese Cuisine has an interesting range of dishes for take-away and delivery. For instance, the 5 Hot & Cold Combination (鸿运彩碟) comprises of deep-fried oyster rolls, chili squids, marinated jelly fish, stir-fried Pacific clams and crispy money bags.
Meanwhile, the Seafood Boat (一帆风顺海鲜船) contains wok-fried tiger prawns, chili squids, simmered Sabak clams, Szechuan-style yabbies and wok-fried soft-shell crabs. These food items are served in an elegant boat-shaped container.
Reunion Waxed Meat Rice (腊味扣饭) is a good choice too. The rice is topped with air-dried duck meat and chicken floss.
Looking for a special gift for loved ones? Check out the Chocolate Kamquat Cupcakes (杯子蛋糕)! The cakes are given a refined touch by Pastry Chef Tasnim, who is also responsible for crafting the eye-catching desserts last Christmas.
