Penang Hill Lily Ice Kacang

Astaka Bukit Bendera is a 2-level food court at Penang Hill (Bukit Bendera), within a short stroll from the upper station of Penang Hill Railway. Penang Hill Lily Ice Kacang is one of the stalls at the lower deck. Operated by a mother-daughter pair, this desserts stall started operating in 1986 and its menu has since diversified beyond mere Ice Kacang.

Mango Ice (RM10.00) is one of the stall's bestselling desserts. Besides mango-flavored ice cream, this cold dessert includes actual mangoes, fruit-flavored pearls and mango syrup at the base. The overall presentation is attractive. The fruity tanginess of mango delights my sweet tooth especially after a long day exploring Penang Hill.
