Special thanks to One World Hotel for extending this food review invitation.
One World Hotel is a 5-star hotel adjacent to 1 Utama Shopping Centre. Cinnamon Coffee House is the all-day dining restaurant of the hotel. This evening, the eatery is hosting a preview of the upcoming Christmas meals. Today's buffet spread features over 100 dishes that is certain to delight one's palate!
Starting at the carving station, the Roasted Turkey is served with honey, herb and chestnut stuffing. As per tradition, cranberry sauce and giblet gravy are prepared. Another delicacy that takes advantage of the condiments is Herb-Crusted Strip Loin.
Fans of Arab cuisine can savor Turkey Mandi, whose recipe is inspired by the popular Chicken Mandi. The turkey is served with basmati rice that is infused with stock and spices.
Moving from the land to the sea, a large lobster is the centerpiece of the seafood section. Other marine delicacies include smoked salmon, cured mackerel and tuna loin cut.
Seafood on ice are slipper lobsters, yabbies, prawns, crabs, oysters, mussels and scallops. Cocktail sauce, lemon wedges and Tabasco sauce are provided too.
The Japanese section presents several types of maki sushi and tempura. Meanwhile, sashimi lovers may indulge in succulent slices of salmon, tuna and octopus.
As for cold cuts, diners may help themselves to roast beef, lamb pastrami, chicken bologna, duck confit tartlets and pâté. The buffet spread also covers an assortment of tapas and gourmet cheeses.
Several types of German sausages are featured this evening too. Stuffed into casings, the sausages are grilled to perfection. Mashed potatoes are prepared too.
The pizza counter gives diners an opportunity to sample pizzas topped with turkey or seafood. Using thin crust is the right move as this accentuates the taste of toppings.
In line with the yuletide season, the buffet line includes many Western-style chafing dishes. For instance, Roasted Lamb is served with tangy apple and pear chutney. The dish is also flavored with sweet cranberry sauce.
Asian cooking is not neglected too. Some of the chefs' signature dishes are Beef & Potato Gulai, Assam Spicy Fish Head Curry and Opor-Style Lamb.
Christmas confections play a key role in getting into the festive spirit. Shown here are Hazelnut Twisted Bread, Caramel Cinnamon Bun, Berry Crumble Bread and Christmas Stollen.
Also present this evening are Swiss Ring Tea Bread, Apple Custard Chocolate Bread, Panettone, Gingerbread and Pretzels. The pastry team obviously spared no expense in decorating the desserts.
Chocolate Yule Log is another iconic confection during the Christmas season. The cake is decorated to resemble an actual yule log. For instance, the chocolate icing is raked with a fork to mimic the rough texture of bark.
Other mouthwatering desserts that satiate one's sweet tooth are Christmas Fruitcake, Christmas Pudding, Cranberry Cheesecake, Berries Panna Cotta, Vanilla Crème Brûlée Tartlets and Profiteroles.
Last but not least, the hearty Christmas feast concludes on a high note with fresh fruits like apples, bananas, honeydew and watermelon. Jackfruit, rambutan, pitaya (dragon fruit) and longan are available too.
One World Hotel's yuletide-themed buffet dinner is served on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Eve. Meanwhile, the hotel also serves festive high tea on Christmas Day and New Year's Day. As for people who prefer to celebrate Christmas at home, One World Hotel offers Roasted Turkey and other delightful goodies for take-away.
