Restoran Kim Hoe

Pulau Ketam a tourist spot off the coast of Selangor. The island can be reached from the ferry terminal at Port Klang (Pelabuhan Klang). Upon disembarking the boat at Pulau Ketam, visitors are greeted by a large number of eateries in the fishing village.
Restoran Kim Hoe (金河茶餐室) is one of the more popular restaurants here. The shop serves a variety of seafood dishes such as crabs, prawns, clams, fish and more.
Lala Meehoon (啦啦米粉, RM28.00) is an interesting combination of ingredients that I have not imagined before. The clams are seasoned with chili and garlic, which makes them appetizing indeed. This dish is certainly highly recommended.
The next dish is Fish Ball Soup (鱼丸汤, RM18.00). The handmade fish balls are springy and tasty. The soup also contains fish noodles (鱼面) and vegetables. Spring onions and fried shallots serve to improve the aroma.
Customers of Restoran Kim Hoe are allowed to order from the omelette stall in front of the restaurant. Operating since 1974, the stall claims to have pioneered the recipe for Clam Omelette (啦啦煎).
We placed an order for Oyster Omelette (蚝煎, RM15.00). The omelette contains a generous amount of oysters. The dish goes pretty well with chili sauce.
The dishes that we tasted today are quite satisfying. Despite the fact that seafood is abundant in this fishing village, the pricing is not cheap though. Therefore, we are looking forward to trying other restaurants during our next visit to Pulau Ketam.
