There is a one-way road at the side of Shell petrol station in Farlim, which leads to a few apartment blocks on the left. On the ground floor of one of them is Lai Fa Lin (来发林), a stall selling Hokkien Mee (福建面) and Loh Mee (卤面).
The stall is only open for dinner and closed on Sundays. As for the price, a large bowl costs RM4.00. A number of drinks are also available.
I opted for the Hokkien Mee (福建面, RM4.00) today. The bowl of rice vermicelli (米粉) and yellow noodles (黄面) is served with pork slices, shrimps, boiled eggs, bean sprouts and fried onions. As usual, chili paste is provided in the spoon. And as usual, I mix the whole spoonful to the broth.
The broth is reasonably rich in flavor, but I must admit that I have tasted better ones elsewhere. The pork slices and shrimps are reasonably plentiful. However, I feel that there is much room for improvement in terms of freshness.
My choice of beverage is a hot glass of Red Nutmeg (红豆蔻, RM1.30).
The Hokkien Mee here is reasonably acceptable, but I am curious how well the Loh Mee fares. I leave this question to be answered during my next visit.
